How Is Real Pistachio Cream Made?

May 10, 20254 min read

Most products on supermarket shelves labelled "pistachio cream" contain surprisingly little actual pistachio. So what does real pistachio cream look like?

Why Does the Pistachio Ratio Matter?

The pistachio content of a cream directly affects both its flavour and nutritional value. The difference between a cream with 5% pistachio and one with 30% is immediately noticeable when you taste it.

Our Production Process

At Pistachiantep, all our creams contain a minimum of 30% real Antep pistachio. In our pistachio paste this rises to 70%, and in our pistachio puree to 100%.

The process works like this:

Harvest: Fresh pistachios collected from our own orchards

Sorting: Every nut passes individual quality control

Processing: Low-temperature processing preserves the aroma

Blending: Pistachio ratio is precisely calibrated

Conclusion

When buying a pistachio cream, read the ingredients list. Is there real pistachio in it — and how much? This simple question will save you from many disappointments.
